Parkson outside Malaysia
In 1994, Parkson China ("Parkson") opened its first department store in Beijing, positioning itself at the middle and middle-upper end of the retail market of the People's Republic of China ("PRC"). Parkson is one of the first foreign department store chains to establish a presence in PRC. Todate, it is one of the premier retail operators in PRC having an extensive network of department stores covering 26 major cities in 18 provinces across PRC.
Parkson is a renowned foreign brand with strong brand recognition focusing on fashion and lifestyle among the middle and middle upper class consumers. Over the years, Parkson has developed well-established relationships with various distinguished international and PRC domestic brands, allowing Parkson to offer a wide range of merchandise in its stores. This also enables Parkson to develop its image in the minds of the consumers and maintain its status as one of the leading retail department stores in PRC.
The opening of Parkson Saigontourist Plaza on June 29, 2005, marked the entrance of Parkson as the leading department store in Asia and the first truly international department store to be opened in Ho Chi Minh City.
Today, Parkson has eight modern and successful department stores, 5 in Ho Chi Minh City, 2 in Hanoi and 1 in Hai Phong where Shoppers can find more than 300 well-known international fashion brands that have never been distributed in Vietnam prior to Parkson's entry. These brands include Coach, Christian Dior, Estée Lauder, Lancôme, Clinique, Shiseido, Gucci, Clarins, Lacoste, Guess, CK Jeans, Lancel, Esprit, Levis, Lewré, Bonia, Ecco, Geox, Addidas, Nike. Favorite Vietnamese brands such as Vera, Nino Maxx, N&M, An Phuoc can also be found at Parkson, creating a booming retail hub right in the heart of these cities.
Parkson Vietnam also provides direct and indirect local employment for over 1000 employees.
